In this story you are an infant. One of your parents, let’s say your mother, is holding you. (In a classic fairy tale you would be a golden haired princess and you would be being held prisoner by an evil witch, but we’re on a budget, so we’ll do the common person’s fairy tale.) Your mother is struggling with her personal issues and although she is doing the best she can, she cannot give you the attention you need. That means that she cannot hold you as securely as you need. Feeling insecure, you naturally wonder if she is acting like this because there is something undesirable about you. After all, if you were really valued she would treat you with greater consideration. (When the love that a child needs is withheld the child naturally questions her worthiness. It is in the nature of all of us, but it is acute in children.)
Individuals who live in Oklahoma are able to review a new life insurance policy for ten days after first receiving it. If they decide within those ten days that the policy just isn’t a good fit for them, they can ask for a full refund of any premium they’ve paid. Every person who buys a life insurance policy in the state should use that time to ask any questions and also to fully weigh the benefits and any drawbacks of the policy.

If I could chime in on what I’m over and done with as an artist, I’m through with the term “starving artist” and am ready to replace that with “well-fed artist.” A couple of days ago I spoke with a prospective client of mine who was a painter, and within 30 seconds I had heard all the stereotypes of the starving artist.
“I have no money.”
“I can’t start anything right now.”
“I have to go through some turmoil first.”
So many of us wander through life thinking we have everything together. I have a fool proof way to see if you really do have it together. You will be able to tell with one question.
Are you successful with money?
I don’t mean are you wealthy beyond belief. I’m talking about are you drowning in debt? (You may be and not even know it.) A good way to tell if you are in over your head is to list all your debts in a column and then all your assets and/or things that actually go up in value (like a house or an investment) in another column.
Listen…listen…your soul is speaking. Some refer to it as your heartbeat. To others, it’s an unshakable knowing that comes from deep within. If you want something that sounds more intellectual –it’s the reverberation of unrequited passion pulsating through every nerve and synapse of your being that challenges your current state and motivates you toward something bigger. Now that’s a mouthful.
It amazes me that even in a country that heralds Christianity as its predominant belief, a significant number of men and women admit that they are discontent with their jobs and dissatisfied with their lives. They just ain’t happy. They celebrate salvation of the soul but turn a deaf ear to the soul when it speaks.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people spend so much of their time complaining about what life has handed them. It amazes me how much time people spend complaining about what they “got” or “didn’t get”. As far as I’m concerned, you get what you get! From there you have a choice. You have the choice to complain about it, to whine about it, or to get over it and make the most of it!
