The IIM Group Discussion and subsequent
Personal Interview has become one of the most used
methods for screening of candidates for the IIM
MBA admission procedure. Cracking the GD/PI
requires similiar preparation as made for the actual
CAT exam.
To prepare adequately for the IIM GD process one
should begin with the following tips:
1) Start acquiring knowledge of solutions: Don’t read
the news papers merely to understand what’s going
on. If you are reading about the growth of Special
export Zones in India and the Nandigram violence -
then make the effort to understand how it could
have been avoided.

“Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.” ~William James
We all have uncompleted tasks, some of which can nag and prick at us like burrs. Perhaps it’s a squeaky door that you mean to oil, a button that needs sewing on, papers that need to be filed, a letter to be written, laundry to be folded, and on and on.
These uncompleted tasks are just part of life. But when they pile up, undone for a long time, they negatively affect our energy and our ability to take action to complete the tasks. So why don’t we just complete the tasks?
Here are some possible reasons for our procrastination:

What a difference a day makes - unless you’re going through life on automatic. Scientists are no help. They say we shouldn’t sleep late even if we have the chance. Supposedly not getting up at the same time every day has a negative effect on our biorhythms. Obviously, those scientists don’t have young children.
I try to get up before the alarm clock goes off. There’s no pushing the snooze button. If I snooze, I lose what I hope will be a head start on the day. For me getting up means washing my face, brushing my teeth, exercising, showering and dressing for the day. If I wasn’t running on automatic, I’d stall.
The 80/20 Principle and Time Revolution
Most of what we do is of low value.
Some small fragments of our time are much more valuable than all the rest.
If we can do anything about this, we should do something radical.
If we make good use of only 20 percent of our time, there is no shortage of it!
The point is not to manage your time better!
You need to transform how you spend your time and you probably need to change the way you think about time itself. Time management is about the selling of “time managers.” Time management aims to fit a quart into a pint jar, it is about speeding up.
Through the years I’ve seen versions of Household Rules printed on posters, mugs and the like. You may know it, here are some of the words:
· If you get it out, put it up.
· If you sleep on it, make it up.
· If you wear it, hang it up.
· If you drop it, pick it up.
· If you dirty it, wash it.
· If you open it, close it.
· If you turn it on, turn it off.
