Scientists in Switzerland recently conducted a study hoping to quantify the equine attention span. They taught the horses in the study to touch an object after specific cues were sounded, and the animals were given a reward for a positive response. If the horse touched the object before the cue was given, they did not receive a reward, meaning they had to wait. The time between the cues was extended during the experiment phase to measure how long the horses retained their focus.

In the most recent term of the Texas Legislature the legislators finally took positive action regarding the laws governing Massage Therapy in the state. Many Massage Therapists and Massage Therapy associations in Texas have been asking the legislature to increase the number training hours required for massage therapy licensure in the state. Prior to this legislation only 300 hours of training were required for massage therapy licensure in the State of Texas.

When using Macromedia’s Dreamweaver 8, you’ll want to acquaint yourself with the Property Inspector immediately. The Property Inspector panel is by default located at the bottom of the Dreamweaver window, below the Design and Code view windows. Using this panel, you can modify the properties of the currently selected object.

In the Design view, if you click on the HTML tag or an object, most of its properties will be accessible. This isn’t necessarily the case with page properties in Dreamweaver. The page properties do not appear in the Property Inspector, but can be accessed from an open page by selecting Modify > Page. If you prefer, the Property Inspector has a Page Properties button, which will also open the Page Properties dialogue box when you click on it.

Tonight we are going to discuss how you leave the sale after you have sold the prospect. As usual I was watching a sales professional close a sale, which I must say went quite well UNTIL the sales person was leaving. Then the wheels fell off, and I mean completely fell off!

As the sales person was leaving he apparently remembered that he failed to leave a business card. Instead of going to his car and getting one he made a catastrophic mistake. He stopped at the exit of the business when the client was high on his new purchase and asked the customer if he left a card with his copy of the CONTRACT. They both went in to look and the end result was he still had to go to the car and get one.

The use of simulation learning tools to educate employees is growing rapidly due to the decisive success rates of their targeted commercial content. Increasingly they are teaching management teams improved business acumen and decision making in a risk-free real-world setting.

These simulation tools will often take two forms; either a manual business game – often requiring business decisions to be repeatedly made and providing learning measures alongside the exercise
or using electronic media to provide business simulations (either fictional or realistic) dependent on the skill sets being targeted. These simulations are increasingly being referred to as ‘Serious Games’ which can sometimes be misleading however this reflects the growing awareness of the simulation tool in the training market.

When you spar, how hard should you and your partner hit?

The short answer is – as hard as you want.

If you’re preparing for a full contact match, then at least part of
your training will need to be full contact. Most martial artist don’t
compete regularly in full contact though, and many of them don’t
compete at all. For them, sparring full contact probably isn’t what
they want to do . . . but then they miss the benefits of full contact
training.
