A Glimpse at the Disney World History
The earliest Disney World history can be traced back to the time that the Walt Disney Company started in 1923. During this time, the famous Walt Disney himself and his brother worked together to produce Alice Comedies, a short film which can be described in today’s terms as live action-animated. This was the beginning of the production of Disney animated movies. 1937 was when “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, Disney’s first full length animated feature, was produced.
Now, the Disney World history in Orlando actually started in 1959, when the Walt Disney Company started to look for land which they will turn into a second Disneyland which was in Anaheim California back then.
There is a long and rich history of how the land was acquired by the Walt Disney Company to have the enormous scope in area of the Disney World that we know today. When Walt Disney dies in 1966, his brother Roy O. Disney continued the plans for the first phase of the project and he is the one who oversaw the construction. Walt Disney World opened its doors to the public in the latter part of 1971.
